  • District Seeks Name for New School

    The Hays Consolidated Independent School District School Naming Committee is seeking nominations for a name for the district’s fifteenth elementary school. The school, which was approved by voters in the 2021 bond, is on scheduled to open in August 2022. People who wish to submit name suggestions may do so electronically at:, until noon on Monday, November 29, 2021. Nominations can be accepted from individuals or groups, so long as they are residents, taxpayers, or service providers in the district.

  • Hays CISD Announces Basketball Season Pass for Families!

    Two options are available: High School package for $60 and/or Middle School package for $25. Package consists of 2 passes which each admit 4 people for a total of 8 spectators per game.   • Hays CISD Gifted and Talented Referral Period Opens for Kindergarten - 11th Grade Students

    Students who participate in services designed for gifted/talented students will demonstrate skills in self-directed learning, thinking, research, and communication. These skills are often evidenced by the development of innovative products and performances that reflect individuality and creativity. Furthermore, these skills are advanced in relation to students of similar age, experience, or environment. Hays CISD campuses will accept referrals for gifted and talented services from November 1 - 30, 2021. Referrals can be made in two different ways. The first option is to complete an online referral. The second option is to complete a paper referral. Copies of the paper referral form are available in the front office of each campus and should be returned to the campus counselor.   • Upcoming Job Fairs!

    Hays CISD will be attending several job fairs in November 2021 - both in-person and virtual. Hays CISD will also be participating in the annual Red, White and You, held by the Texas Workforce Commission on November 4, 2021.   • Hays CISD Academic Calendar Changed - Nov 8th & Feb 18th Now Student Holidays

    On Monday, October 18, 2021, the Hays CISD Board of Trustees voted unanimously (7 to 0 vote) to add two student holidays to this school year to provide additional planning and preparation time for teachers. The recommendation to the Board to make the change comes from a unanimous (26 to 0 vote) of the District Leadership Team, comprised of teachers, parents, community members, and business leaders. The two new student holidays are: Monday, November 8, 2021, and Friday, February 18, 2022 (creating a 4-day student and family holiday for the Presidents Day break).
