Attendance Matters

Many of our youngest students miss 10 percent of the school year—about 18 days a year or just two days every month. Chronic absenteeism in kindergarten, and even preK, can predict lower test scores, poor attendance and retention in later grades, especially if the problem persists for more than a year. Do you know how many young children are chronically absent in your school or community?

Hays CISD Clothes Closet

The Hays CISD Clothes Closet was established to help students in all grade levels (PK-12) in our district whose families or guardians may be experiencing economic challenges. The Clothes Closet will provide new and/or gently used clothing. Click on the headline above for more information.

Nominees Sought for Hays CISD District Leadership Team (DLT)

Hays CISD’s District Leadership Team (DLT) serves as an advisory committee to provide input to the superintendent throughout the school year. The committee is comprised of teachers, non-teaching professionals, parents, and business and community members as outlined in board policy. Committee members serve staggered terms. Free Summer Meals for Kids

SMARTtag Parent App In-Person Training Available August 8 & August 10, 2024!

Hays CISD Transportation has migrated to the new SMARTtag Parent App. The new mobile Parent App is replacing the Parent Portal (web access). The Parent App is available for Android and iOS. In-person assistance with the SMARTtag Parent App will be available August 8 and August 10 at the Hays CISD PAC.
