Immunizations
All students must be up to date on vaccines or have a current, valid exemption form on file whether attending virtually or in person for the school year. Please visit here for a full list of Texas minimum vaccine requirements for school. Updated immunization records may be emailed to the nurse. Exemption forms for immunizations can be requested here. If your student receives immunizations throughout the school year, please forward updated immunization records to the nurse.

Wellness
Questions about COVID-19? Please visit the CDC website, the Texas Health Department Website, or the Hays CISD website for more information. Please reach out if you have any questions.
Covid/Flu - your child may return once they are 24 hours free of fever/vomiting/diarrhea without the use of any fever-reducing, antidiarrheal, or antiemetic medications. For gastric illnesses, I do recommend keeping them home until they are able to tolerate regular food without experiencing vomiting/diarrhea/severe stomachache.
Please report all flu and covid positives to the nurse.
Health Screenings
Health screenings (state/law required) Each year we have school wide vision and hearing screens for Kinder, 1st, 3rd, 5th, and for students in SPED or receiving other kinds of services (ex Speech). We also screen for Acanthosis Nigricans in 1st, 3rd, and 5th grade. We will also screen for Scoliosis in 5th grade girls. Please email me if you have questions or your child loses/breaks their glasses and you need help getting a new exam/pair.
Affordable health care - if your child doesn't have medical insurance or is about to lose it I do have resources to help get them care when they need it.
Clothing Donations Needed
Accidents happen regardless of age that require a change of clothes. Spilled food, nosebleeds and unable to make it to the bathroom in time are just a few of the reasons our students need an extra outfit. We try to have a variety of sizes on hand to help get students back to class. Our Clothing Closet in the clinic is always in need of gently used pants/shorts. Elastic waist clothing is preferred as it fits a variety of sizes and is free of snaps/buttons/zippers which can be difficult for some students. Donations are always welcome.
