    The Pfluger Destination Imagination team finished in 4th place in the Next Level Technical Challenge and are advancing to State! What an achievement! The Pfluger DI team includes

    Subject: Free After School STEM Program Just for Girls! ***Deadline Extended for signup to 02/19/21*** 

    We invite your daughter to join Girlstart After School! Girlstart After School is a program for girls to be brave, creative, and curious as they engage in fun, hands-on STEM activities, explore different careers, and get inspired by women in STEM from wherever they are this spring. Students must be in the 4th or 5th Grade ONLY.

     The Girlstart After School Experience Includes:

    ·  A kit with all hands-on activity materials, a comprehensive engineering journal, and Girlstart goodies. 

    ·  10 weekly 1 hour and 15 minute secure Zoom calls for your daughter to connect with friends and Girlstart program leaders. 

    ·  Recorded videos to support lessons, available for your daughter to view at any time.

    Every Monday at 4:30-5:45pm

    Starting: Monday, February 1st

    No Club: Monday, March 15th

    No Club: Monday, April 5th

    Last day: Monday, April 19th

  • Principals Hired for Buda, Fuentes, Pfluger & Impact Campuses; District Also Fills Special Ed Executive Officer Slot

    At the April 27, 2021, board meeting, the Hays Consolidated Independent School District (Hays CISD) Board of Trustees approved hiring four new principals and the special education executive officer to fill upcoming vacancies, including the retirements of two long-time district employees. Megan Zembik is the new principal for Buda Elementary School. Shea Howard is principal for Fuentes Elementary. Elizabeth Lara will lead Pfluger Elementary as its principal. Cynthia Zapata is the new principal for the district’s Impact Center. And, Michelle Velasquez will lead the district’s special education department. All of the new hires are current Hays CISD employees who are being promoted from within the district.

  • Hays CISD Destination Imagination Results!

    Hays CISD had three teams participate in Destination Imagination during the 2020-2021 school year. Schools represented include Pfluger Elementary School, Chapa Middle School, and Dahlstrom Middle School. This year, not only did the teams complete the challenges provided by Destination Imagination, they also overcame obstacles due to Covid including practicing and competing virtually. What a unique learning experience for these students and their team managers. Two teams advanced to the State tournament with one team advancing to the Global competition which will take place virtually this summer.   • Hays HS “Hawks” Logos Unveiled

    Unveiled Hays High School unveiled its new “Hawks” logo and branding package Wednesday, showing the official school mascot depictions first to students and staff, and then to parents. The soaring hawk in attack mode serves as the school’s primary mark, with additional logo versions available, including a stand-alone mascot head, the campus’s trademark “H,” and a variety of customizable word marks that will make it easy for teams, clubs, and student organizations to personalize the brand for their respective groups.

  • Saturn V Application date for the 2021-2022 school year has been extended!

    The application deadline for the 2021-2022 Saturn V program has been extended to February 26, 2021. Saturn V is a unique magnet program in Hays CISD with a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) focus. It is for students who are in 4th or 5th grade, and is open to any student who resides in the district via an application. For additional information, click headline or "Read More" link below.
