Welcome Families!
I am Nurse Kelly, your child's school nurse. I have 13 years of experience as a registered nurse, with this being my second year with Hays CISD. I graduated from Valparaiso University with my Bachelors of Science in Nursing. My professional nursing background is in school nursing, diabetes education, and outpatient Women's Health.
I lived in the Chicago suburbs my whole life until my family and I decided to move to Texas three years ago! I now live in Kyle with my husband and two daughters, who are Pfluger Falcons as well.
My role as the school nurse is to support our student's education by promoting and maintaining good health, as well as taking care of acute injury and illness as it occurs.
School nurses perform required health screenings, monitor state-mandated immunizations, and maintain the school population's health through identification potentially communicable diseases.
