40 to Finish Student Service Hours Logo

Beginning the Class of 2027, Hays CISD requires high school students to earn a cumulative 40 hours of community service in order to graduate. This helps ensure Hays CISD graduates have the competitive advantage of not only being academically prepared for success, but also that they have learned important life and character-building skills. These service hours can be fulfilled using a wide range of opportunities either in currently existing volunteer roles, or through projects created by the students themselves. Additionally, the hours required for graduation can be combined with other service hours already required by many campus clubs and activities.
