Becoming a House Leader is the highest honor that a student can earn in their house. House leaders will assist in planning and leading the House Meetings, special House activities, House Assemblies, create Negley Good News, and will welcome guests and new students. They are role models and leaders for their house. This leadership role requires you to arrive at school by 7:05, 3 - 4 days per week, maintain good attendance, keep up with your schoolwork, and continue to demonstrate leadership skills.
Excellent behavior is expected from our House Leaders. It's important to know that if there are behavior concerns or attendance concerns, we will reach out to your parent or guardian for possible removal from House Leader, depending upon the infraction.
Being a House Leader is a year long commitment. Students can be a House Leader along with other leadership roles, such as safety patrol. Interested students will need to fill out three different parts: an online application, submit a video, and turn in a signed parent permission form (hard copy) to Ms. Estes. After Sunday, April 26th, a committee of staff members will review them and determine who will receive this honor. You will find out whether or not you were selected by the end of the school year.
Applications are a three part process, consisting of an online application, a video, and a parent permission form (this is a hard copy). All three parts are due by Sunday, April 26th at 8 pm. We will not accept late applications, and all three parts have to be turned in to be considered. Students will need to get a parent permission form from either Mrs. Kibodeaux or Ms. Estes. They can pick these up at any time from the music room or STEAM room. The parent permission form needs to be signed and returned to Ms. Estes by Sunday, April 26th at 8pm. It can also be scanned in or a picture can be emailed to stephanie.estes@hayscisd.net. Please take your time and be thoughtful with your answers! YOU need to fill out this online application, not your parent or guardian. Have a grown up look over your application before you submit to make sure nothing is missing! If you have questions, or want to confirm that all three parts are turned in, please come see Mrs. Kibodeaux or Ms. Estes. If you have questions, our emails are haley.kibodeaux@hayscisd.net and stephanie.estes@hayscisd.net
