Hello, Owls!

Welcome to Live Oak Academy!

It is with great excitement and sincere gratitude that I welcome you to the 2026–2027 school year as the proud principal of Live Oak Academy, Hays CISD's Alternative School. I am truly honored to join the Live Oak family and serve a school community that has had such a meaningful impact on the lives of countless students. I hope each of you enjoyed a summer filled with rest, joy, and special memories with family and friends.

As we begin this exciting new chapter together, I look forward to getting to know our students, families, and staff while building on the incredible foundation that makes Live Oak so special. This is my first year serving the Live Oak community, and I could not be more excited to be part of a campus where every student is valued, supported, and encouraged to reach their fullest potential.

I joined Hays CISD in 2008 and have been fortunate to serve at several outstanding campuses, including Chapa, Simon, Dahlstrom, Lehman, and most recently, Barton Middle School. Each experience has shaped my leadership philosophy and strengthened my belief that meaningful relationships, high expectations, and unwavering support create opportunities for every student to succeed. I am grateful to bring those experiences to Live Oak and eager to continue learning alongside this exceptional community.

What makes this school so special is its unwavering belief that every student deserves the opportunity to succeed, no matter where their journey began. At Live Oak, we recognize that every student's path is unique, and we are committed to providing the encouragement, support, and individualized learning opportunities needed to help each student write the next chapter of their success story.

I am honored to join a team of dedicated educators who are passionate about making a difference every day. At the heart of Live Oak is an extraordinary staff whose commitment to our students is evident in everything they do. Their dedication to building meaningful relationships, creating a culture of belonging, and empowering students to achieve both academically and personally is what makes this school truly remarkable.

As principal, my mission is simple: students come first. Every decision we make will be centered on what is best for our students and their success. Our motto, Educate. Accelerate. Graduate., is more than just a slogan. It is our promise to students and families and the guiding principle behind everything we do.

I am incredibly proud to lead Live Oak Academy and look forward to a year filled with learning, growth, and celebration. Together, we will inspire one another, overcome challenges, celebrate achievements, and ensure every Owl has the support needed to graduate prepared for life beyond high school, and become successful, contributing members of our community.
