We are excited to meet all of our new Bobcats and see our returning Bobcats. Bobcat Camp and Schedule Pick-up are not required events but we hope that as many of our Bobcats can attend as possible. Students return for the 1st day of school on Thursday, August 13th.

Bobcat Camp

We will host our Bobcat Camp for all new Barton students on August 11th from 9-12. Students can start dropping off as early as 8:00. Students will be sent outside to the front parking lot around 12:00 after the Pep Rally. We will provide a snack during Bobcat Camp as well as pizza and water for lunch. Students will be given a t-shirt as they enter that they are welcome to wear for camp or send home with their parents. Parents are not allowed to attend Bobcat Camp but are welcome to walk students to the door and take home whatever shirt the student chooses not to wear. Bobcat Camp will all be inside the building, so students do not have to bring a water bottle, but they are welcome to. Students will receive a copy of their course schedule at the end of camp and have the opportunity to walk it a couple of times to help ensure they are more comfortable on their first day of school.

As always, our NJHS and Student Council students' assistance is greatly appreciated to guide our new Bobcats around the building. Your sponsors will be reaching out to you to coordinate. I am also sure that some of our Fine Arts programs will be performing during our Pep Rally and your sponsors will be reaching out to you as well.

Schedule Pick-up

Schedule Pick-up will happen from 1:00-6:00 on August 11th as well. Students do not have to attend this event in order to see their schedules (they will be available online). However, this is a great time to see some of their friends and staff members that they have missed all summer. Parents can drop off physical forms, shot records, etc. in the front office as they enter. All returning 7th and 8th graders who had Hays Chromebooks last year can check out their device in the Library. Any students who are in PE/Dance/Pre-athletics can order or purchase athletic uniforms. Athletics students can check out equipment and get locker assignments as well as meet some of your coaches. Parents can sign up to join our PTA and ask any questions of staff to ensure that your student has an outstanding start to the school year.

As always, if you have any questions or concerns, don't hesitate to reach out at aaron.loyd@hayscisd.net or call campus at 512-268-1472.

Living the Dream,

Mr. Loyd
