  • School Supply Orders Due June 6

    Tired of driving from store to store to purchase school supplies for your child? Great news! We are offering the SchoolKidz Supply Kit program at our school this year. Kits include the exact colors, quantities, and brands teachers are requesting in a personalized box ready for your child’s first day of school.   • HHS Dual Credit Information Information Session - March 8 @ 6:30pm

    Attention, all students signed up for college credit courses in the 2018-2019 school year. We will have an information session on Dual Enrollment from the University of Texas and college course offerings at Hays High School. There will be an informative session, "Everything you ever wanted to know about taking college courses at HHS" on March 8th, 2018 in the Hays High school Cafeteria from 6:30 to 8:30 pm. Plan on learning more about college credit offerings at Hays High School in the 2018-19 school year. Sessions: • A representative from Southwestern University will present "Finding your Fit" - A session full of tips on selecting the right college after High School. • A representative from UT OnRamps will be here to discuss the benefits of Dual Enrollment courses offered through the University of Texas at Austin and Hays High school. • Hays HS-UT OnRamps teachers will have a panel discussion about taking college courses on campus during the day. With a Q and A led by the Hays HS counseling team.

  • TSI Testing Required for Dual Credit Classes

    TSI testing dates for high school students: February 10th @ Lehman High School, March 3rd @ Hays High School, April 14th @ Lehman High School. If you are interested in taking dual credit courses next year and have not already done so, you need to take the TSI exam. Go to the main page of the Hays High School Counseling website to sign up. If you have questions, see Ms. Dono in the College & Career Center.

  • Navigate Your Future Night January 9, 2018

    Middle school and high school students and parents are invited to attend the Annual Navigate Your Future Night on January 9 from 6:00-8:30 pm at the Performing Arts Center (PAC). Information about the PSAT scores, financial aid and college admissions updates, graduation requirements, ACC Dual Credit and Dual Credit plus will be shared. Spanish translation and hearing impaired services will be provided. Los padres de estudiantes de la escuela intermedia y secundaria están invitados a asistir a la Noche Anual de Navegue por su Futuro el 9 de enero de 6: 00-8: 30 pm. Esta junta se realizara en el Centro de Amaestrado (PAC). Se compartirá información sobre las calificaciones PSAT, ayuda financiera y las actualizaciones de admisiones a la universidad, los requisitos de graduación, ACC Dual Credit y Dual Credit plus. Se proveerán servicios de traducción en español y de impedimentos auditivos.

  • Hays CISD Explores District of Innovation Status

    Hays Consolidated Independent School District (Hays CISD) is considering becoming a District of Innovation. On October 29, 2018, during its regularly scheduled board business meeting, the Hays CISD Board of Trustees adopted a resolution to initiate the process of exploring the benefits of becoming a District of Innovation. With this status, Hays CISD would be able to further personalize how instruction is delivered to students.

  • Hays CISD Makes Johnson HS Principal Selection

    Hays Consolidated Independent School District (Hays CISD) Superintendent Dr. Eric Wright is pleased to announce the selection of Brett Miksch as the principal of Johnson High School, which is scheduled to open in August 2019. The Hays CISD Board of Trustees unanimously approved hiring Miksch at its meeting on October 29, 2018.

  • Hays CISD to Create New High School Attendance Zones

    The process is underway to create new high school attendance zones in Hays CISD to accommodate the opening of the district’s third high school next year. Johnson High School will open in August 2019 and needs an attendance zone. In August, the Board of Trustees voted to empanel a committee of 35 citizens to review proposed maps, receive public input, and create a recommendation that will be presented to the Board for a vote in either November or December of this year. This committee met for the first time Thursday, September 27, 2018.

  • Taylor Named District’s First Director of Safety & Security

    The Hays Consolidated Independent School District is pleased to announce that Phillip Taylor has been named the district’s director of safety and security. This is a brand new position for Hays CISD, which expects to see a student enrollment this school year that surpasses 20,000 for the first time. “Our Board and district leadership decided this summer that we need to have a person whose job is entirely focused on student and campus safety and security,” said Superintendent Dr. Eric Wright. “Given our size and the times in which we live, this position is important, and I couldn’t be more pleased that Phillip Taylor will serve our students and employees in this role.”
