    Announcements for This Week:

    Tomorrow night (Jan. 23rd) we will have a Meet and Greet with the new Johnson High School principal, Brett Miksch.  I highly encourage all 8th grade parents to take this opportunity to meet Mr. Miksch. He will be able to answer any questions you might have for their upcoming freshman year at Johnson High School. The Meet and Greet will begin at 6:15 pm in the cafeteria at McCormick.

    Please take a few moments to complete the Parent & Community Survey. We value your feedback and opinion, and your participation is greatly appreciated. To access the survey, please use the following link:

    We also have a survey for students to take. They will have the opportunity to take the survey during lunch.

    Next Wednesday, Jan. 30th all 8th grade students will be attending the Electives Fair at Hays HS. Students will be given the opportunity to see what electives are being offered to them in high school. We will return back to campus.

    This year we are using a system called HERO this year that will keep track of tardy/no id/cell phone violations. We also use this system for Tiger Tickets and positive behavior. Parents are able to keep track of their students tardy/no id violations as well as how many tiger tickets they have earned. Here are the directions: 

    1. You must create an account on the computer first before downloading the ap. Please go to https://herok12.com/. Click on sign in (top right corner)
    2. After clicking sign in, click on the picture that says parents
    3. Click on create an account
    4. Hit submit after filling out the information
    5. Click add a student
    6. Click “no” when the message ask if you have a code
    7. Fill out your child information
    • After you have followed these steps, you can download the AP.
    • Type in your search “HeroK12”. Download the HERO AP that is a blue color (it will say students).

  • January is School Board Appreciation Month

    January is School Board Recognition Month, and Hays Consolidated ISD joins other districts across the state as they honor the countless contributions of these locally elected advocates for public education. School board members come from all walks of life. The men and women serving Hays CISD are: Merideth Keller, president; Esperanza Orosco, vice president; Vanessa Petrea, secretary; Willie Tenorio, Jr.; Teresa Tobias; Dr. Michael Sánchez; and Will McManus.

  • Hays CISD 2019 – 2020 Calendar Draft & Feedback Survey

    Hays CISD is pleased to share with you the DRAFT 2019 -2020 school calendar and we want to know what you think. View the draft calendar at: www.hayscisd.net/1920cal.   • Hoffman Named Athletic Coordinator/Head Football Coach for Johnson HS

    Hays Consolidated Independent School District (Hays CISD) Superintendent Dr. Eric Wright is pleased to announce the selection of Steve Hoffman as the first athletic coordinator and head football coach for Johnson High School, which is scheduled to open in August 2019. Hoffman was selected out of 100 applicants for the position.

  • Lucita Named Band Director for Johnson HS

    Hays Consolidated Independent School District (Hays CISD) Superintendent Dr. Eric Wright is pleased to announce the selection of Joey Lucita as the first band director for Johnson High School, which is scheduled to open in August 2019. Lucita, who is the current band director for Lehman High School, has been educating Hays CISD students for 25 years.

  • Hays CISD Explores District of Innovation Status

    Hays Consolidated Independent School District (Hays CISD) is considering becoming a District of Innovation. On October 29, 2018, during its regularly scheduled board business meeting, the Hays CISD Board of Trustees adopted a resolution to initiate the process of exploring the benefits of becoming a District of Innovation. With this status, Hays CISD would be able to further personalize how instruction is delivered to students.
