    Food deliveries from any delivery service are prohibited on campus. We can only accept food from parents/family members for their student only. Parents are not allowed to bring food for other students. 


    Please take a moment to review our policy for students riding home on a bus with another student:

    • A note is needed from both parties; the student that is going home with a friend AND a note from the friend's parent.
    • Both notes must have a parent signature and a phone number.
    • The campus will contact both parties for verification. Notes can be provided ahead of time for verification.
    • Students will not be allowed to go home with their friend on the bus if we have not had verbal confirmation from both parties.

    This year we are using a system called HERO this year that will keep track of tardy/no id/cell phone violations. We also use this system for Tiger Tickets and positive behavior. Parents are able to keep track of their students tardy/no id violations as well as how many tiger tickets they have earned. Here are the directions: 

    1. You must create an account on the computer first before downloading the ap. Please go to https://herok12.com/. Click on sign in (top right corner)
    2. After clicking sign in, click on the picture that says parents
    3. Click on create an account
    4. Hit submit after filling out the information
    5. Click add a student
    6. Click “no” when the message ask if you have a code
    7. Fill out your child information
    • After you have followed these steps, you can download the AP.
    • Type in your search “HeroK12”. Download the HERO AP that is a blue color (it will say students).

  • Figueroa to Lead Hays CISD Mariachi Program

    Hays CISD is pleased to announce the selection of Victor Figueroa as the district’s new mariachi program director. The award-winning Mariachi program has long been a point of pride for the district. The decorated Figueroa, a Texas State University graduate, is returning to the area from his most recent job as the high school mariachi assistant director for McAllen High School.

  • MacRoberts To Lead New Hays CISD Elementary

    Hays CISD Superintendent Dr. Eric Wright announced Monday that David MacRoberts will serve as the new principal for the elementary school that is scheduled to open in the Sunfield subdivision in August 2022. At a meeting on Monday, the Hays CISD Board of Trustees approved the hiring decision. MacRoberts is a proud United States Army veteran with more than two decades worth of school teaching and leadership experience.

  • Board Appoints Retired Bilingual Teacher to Fill Vacancy Until Special Election

    The Hays CISD Board of Trustees voted Thursday to appoint Dr. Esmeralda Pérez-González to fill a vacancy on the Board until the next opportunity to have a special election for the seat. Dr. Pérez-González, who was one of the founding staff members of Hay CISD’s Camino Real Elementary School when it opened in 2008, enjoyed a 38-year career in education before she retired in May 2021.

  • Committee Recommends ‘Sunfield Elementary’ as Name for New School

    The 2021 Hays CISD Naming Committee will make a recommendation in December to the Board of Trustees to name the district’s fifteenth elementary campus Sunfield Elementary School. The school is located in the Sunfield community in Buda, Texas. Approximately 360 name suggestions were submitted for the school during the name nomination period. Almost half of the suggestions, 152 of them, were to name the school Sunfield Elementary. In Hays CISD, schools can be named after the subdivision in which the facility is located, or after historical people or events.
