Hays CISD Gifted and Talented Referral Period Opens

Students who participate in services designed for gifted/talented students will demonstrate skills in self-directed learning, thinking, research, and communication as evidenced by the development of innovative products and performances that reflect individuality and creativity and are advanced in relation to students of similar age, experience, or environment.

Hays CISD campuses will accept referrals for gifted and talented services from November 1 - 30, 2018. Referral forms can be obtained from the front office of your child’s school or online at https://www.hayscisd.net/Page/3392.  Please return completed referral forms to the campus counselor.

Assessments will be conducted in the Spring.  Evaluation of student data and selection of services occur in May. Parents are notified by mail in May 2019 of the final determination of services. Students who require services will receive them beginning in the Fall of 2019.

If your child is already identified as G/T, he/she does not need to be reassessed. If you have any questions contact Tish Cawley at tish.cawley@hayscisd.net or 512-268-2141 x45035.
