May 20, 2021 Email: Masks at Graduation Update
Posted by Tim Savoy on 5/20/2021
Dear Hays CISD Graduates, Families, and Friends,
On Tuesday, Governor Greg Abbott issued an executive order ending mask mandates at schools no later than June 4, 2021. Last week, the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) issued guidance that fully vaccinated people can resume activities without wearing a mask.
With the new direction from both the CDC and the state, the district has amended its graduation ceremony rules regarding masks. Masks will continue to be strongly encouraged for everyone attending the graduation ceremonies in the audience and for graduates while on the field. However, because the event is outside, masks will not be required for spectators or graduates while on the field. Masks will still be required for graduates and adults while inside the ceremony staging and preparation area.
People not able to attend the ceremonies, or who wish to not attend the in-person event, may watch the ceremonies live online at:

Congratulations to all of our Hays CISD graduates! You have earned your diplomas and the admiration of the entire school district community.
