September 21, 2020 Email: Hays CISD In-Person Class Schedule Update

Posted by Tim Savoy on 9/21/2020 4:00:00 PM

Dear Hays CISD Family,

Our principals and Curriculum Instruction Department continue to be hard at work making decisions to help us best navigate the COVID pandemic. They will be meeting throughout the day tomorrow – September 22, 2020 – with Superintendent Dr. Eric Wright to review and finalize what class schedules will look like once in-person learning begins on our campuses on Monday, September 28, 2020.

Currently, we have about half of our students who plan to return to in-person learning next Monday, and about half who will continue with virtual learning. We want to make sure our in-person and virtual learning schedules complement each other as much as possible to allow for: the greatest safety by reducing the amount of hallway traffic and number of classroom transitions; the ability for students to transition between virtual and in-person classes as needed; and adequate time during the school day for teachers to work with all of their students – whether in-person or virtual learners.

I will send you an update on Wednesday, September 23, 2020, with general information that may arise from tomorrow’s meetings. Campuses will follow up with you with specific information by the end of the week, particularly if there are changes to information that has been previously published.

Stay Safe!

Sincerely,
Tim Savoy
Hays CISD Chief Communication Officer
