Currently Accepting Photo Submissions for MMS Veteran's Day Program

Submission Deadline is Sunday, Nov. 6th

Veteran's Day Photo Submission Form

As part of our annual Veteran’s Day program, we will again feature a special tribute to U.S. military veterans. The video presentation includes photos of veterans who are family, friends, and neighbors of our students and staff, as well as MMS teachers who are veterans. This portion of our assembly is a very moving experience for the audience.

We are currently accepting photo submissions of your veterans to include in this year’s video. You can submit your veteran’s photos and information using this formwhich you can also access below.

The deadline for photo submissions is Sunday, November 6th at 11:59 p.m.

For each submission, the veteran's full name should be included, along with their military branch, highest rank, years in service, as well as any overseas deployments and/or service during conflicts (if applicable). We are also asking for the individual completing the submission to include their contact information in case we need to clarify or verify your information.

This year, our Veteran’s Breakfast and Veteran’s Day Assembly will take place on Friday, November 11th. We will begin serving breakfast at 7:30 a.m. Students are invited to attend breakfast with their veterans, along with spouses/family members.

The assembly will begin at 9:00 a.m. Students and spouses/family members will sit with their veterans during the assembly in the designated seating area.

If you need assistance completing your photo submission form, or if you have any questions about our Veteran’s Day program that aren’t answered below, please email Mrs. Clewell at annissa.clewell@hayscisd.net

Q: I have several family members who are veterans. Is it OK to submit more than one?

A: Absolutely! There is no limit to the number of veteran submissions, but please complete one form per individual person. Example: If you have 3 family members you’d like to include, you will complete 3 separate forms (one per veteran). Click Here to Access the Photo Submission Form

Q: We don’t have any family members who are veterans, but we do have a close family friend who is a veteran. Is that ok?

A: Absolutely! Family, friends, and neighbors are all welcome to attend with you and your MMS student(s). This is the time to honor all those who have served, and are currently serving. They don’t have to be directly related to you. Click Here to Access the Photo Submission Form

Q: I’m a veteran. Can I submit my own photo and information?

A: Yes, please! It’s totally ok to make a submission for yourself. Click Here to Access the Photo Submission Form

Q: Is it ok to submit more than one photo of my veteran?

A: Yes, of course! You will be able to attach multiple files on each submission. However, we cannot guarantee that every single image will be used, but it is encouraged to send more than one photo so we have options to work with. Please, no blurry photos. Q: I only have a physical copy of a photo. What should I do?

A: Scannable is a great app to use for photo scanning, and it's free. If you prefer, we can make a digital copy for you. Just bring the photo(s) to the front office. Please make sure to include your contact information and your veteran’s information on a separate piece of paper. Also, we do ask that you still complete the Photo Submission Form. Just make sure to mention that you will be dropping off a physical copy of your photo.

Q: I want to include a family member in the video presentation, but I don’t have their photo at my house. What can I do?

A: Sometimes it’s easier to send the submission form directly to your veteran or their spouse. All you have to do is copy/paste the Photo Submission Form link, and text/email it directly to the person so they can complete it for you. Just make sure you follow up with them to verify they’ve submitted it before the deadline. The deadline for photo submissions is Sunday, November 6th at 11:59 p.m.
