Hays CISD to Use Presidents Day for Weather Make Up
Hays CISD will use Monday, February 19, 2018, as an inclement weather make up day. Hays CISD will operate a normal school schedule on Presidents Day.
Here is the complete letter to parents and staff members:
Dear Parents and Hays CISD Staff,
I have some important information to share with you from the superintendent’s cabinet. Hays CISD will be using President’s Day (Monday, February 19, 2018) as a weather make up day for students.
We started out our year having to close for Hurricane Harvey in August; and then, we ended the semester closing an additional day in December for snow. The superintendent’s cabinet met this morning and determined that it is in the best interest of our students that we use our scheduled weather make up day in February to recover some of that lost instructional time. It is important for our students’ success. We will use banked minutes in our calendar that will allow us to make up both lost weather days on President’s Day.
Plan to come to school on Monday, February 19, 2018, as you would any other day, using the normal time schedule. Let’s hope the weather is more cooperative with us for the rest of the school year.
Sincerely,
Tim Savoy
