UK Variant of COVID Detected at Dahlstrom Middle School; Campus to Implement 100% Virtual Instruction for 14 Days
The Hays County Local Health Department notified Hays CISD Wednesday that the individual in the county who tested positive for the UK variant of COVID-19 is a student at Dahlstrom Middle School who was asymptomatic. Because the UK variant is more contagious and may spread faster than other variants of the virus; as a precaution and in consultation with local health authorities, Hays CISD Superintendent Dr. Eric Wright has decided to place Dahlstrom Middle School on 100% virtual instruction for the next 14 days, including an early dismissal on Wednesday. In-person learners will not return to campus until Thursday, February 25, 2021.
