Dianne Borreson

Ms. Dianne Borreson has served Hays CISD for 31 years as an elementary teacher, the district’s first campus technologist and now as chief technology officer.
In 2001, Ms. Borreson assumed the leadership role in the technology department. Her primary responsibilities include: local area network infrastructure, wide-area fiber network connectivity, wireless infrastructure, software support, workstation support/helpdesk, telecommunications, security/surveillance, Management Information Systems (MIS), Student Information Systems (SIS) and strategic and long-range technology planning.
In addition to her major responsibilities as chief technology officer, she sits on the superintendent’s executive cabinet, manages a district technology budget of $1.4 million annually, facilitates technology bond projects, approves all district hardware and software purchases, manages the E-Rate process and actively participates in technology planning/implementation of new construction projects.
Ms. Borreson is also active in state and local organizations to support technology leadership development. She is a founding member of the Texas CTO organization, a local affiliation of CoSN. She currently serves on the Texas Education Agency ITF Data Standards Advisory Committee and the Texas Education Agency Data Security Task Force. Additionally, she served on Dell’s Executive Platinum Council for 10 years. In 2005, she was TCEA Technology Administrator of Year finalist.
Ms. Borreson earned a BS in Elementary Education and an MS in Curriculum & Instruction (with minors in Technology and Special Education) from Southwest Texas State University/Texas State University. She is married with 3 children.
