One of the greatest strengths of Hays CISD is our unwavering commitment to community—where the word “neighbor” still carries meaning. For us, being a neighbor means ensuring every student has the chance to succeed, no matter their background or circumstance. To help remove barriers, the Hays CISD Clothes Closet opened in 2018. The program serves students in grades PreK–12 by providing free clothing twice each semester, ensuring that clothing insecurity never stands in the way of learning. The Clothes Closet is run completely by volunteers and fueled by the generosity of our community. This year alone, we have already filled more than 400 requests for clothing/school supplies/food support.

If you would like to help with our efforts, you are welcome to contact us to coordinate drop-offs or purchase from our wishlist. We are stronger together. Together, we can help our students and families remove clothing barriers.

We appreaciate your interest in our Clothes Closet and help with this project. Unfortunately, we cannot accept:

• Stained, torn, pilled, or worn out clothes; or items w/ missing buttons or broken zippers

• T-shirts with church, business, alcohol or tobacco logos

• Pajamas or previously worn socks or underwear

• Items with pet hair or smoke smell

• Hats, purses or jewelry

All clothes donated must meet the Hays CISD Dress Code
