Parent-Student Handbook

This handbook is updated once annually and is usually published in late August or September. Policy adoption and revision may occur throughout the year, and these changes prevail if they become in conflict with portions of this handbook. The district encourages parents to stay informed of proposed board policy changes by attending board meetings or watching them online. 

Hays CISD Parent-Student Handbook is primarily distributed electronically; however, paper copies are available from your child's campus upon request.

Student Code of Conduct

The Student Code of Conduct (SCC) has been adopted by the Hays CISD Board of Trustees and developed with the advice of the district-level committee. The SCC provides information to parents and students regarding standards of conduct, consequences of misconduct, and procedures for administering discipline. It remains in effect during summer school and at all school-related events and activities outside the school year until an updated version adopted by the board becomes effective for the next school year. The district does not discriminate against students on the basis of race, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, immigration status, national origin, disability, religion, color, ethnicity or any other basis prohibited by law when enforcing the provisions of the SCC.
