Nurse
Anjelica Hall, RN
Hello Rangers!!!
My name is Anjelica Hall and I'm excited to be back for my 7th year at Wallace Middle School. I have been a registered nurse for 16 years with a background in pediatrics. I live in Buda with my husband and 3 children. In my free time I love to read, bake, craft and hang out with my loved ones.
I look forward to a wonderful year and thank you for the opportunity to care for your children.
Please feel free to email me with any questions or concerns @ anjelica.hall@hayscisd.net.
School nursing is a professional registered nursing specialty that involves identification, assessment, prevention, and intervention to remedy or modify students' health needs. The nurse's goal is to promote the optimum health of students and the students' abilities to achieve their individual educational goals.
Nurses monitor required immunizations, perform mandated health screenings, track communicable diseases, plan for emergencies and provide direct care to students. Please use the links to the left to learn more about the Hays CISD District Health Services.
We would like to assure you that medical information about your child is treated as confidential by the nurses and all school staff. We do not share information about your child with outside parties nor can we discuss health concerns of any other student with you.
News from the Nurse
Medications at School
Students in middle school are ONLY allowed to self-carry inhalers and epi-pens (with physician approval). Please ensure we have the appropriate authorizations on file for your student to self-carry these medications if needed. All other medications must be kept in the nurse's office with the authorizations on file. Medication Authorizations and Action Plans can be found here:
Immunizations
All students must be up to date on vaccines or have a current, valid exemption form on file for the school year. Please visit here for a full list of Texas minimum vaccine requirements for school. Updated immunization records may be emailed to anjelica.hall@hayscisd.net. Exemption forms for immunizations can be requested here. If your student receives immunizations throughout the school year, please forward updated immunization records to the nurse at anjelica.hall@hayscisd.net.
Health Screenings
Texas law requires schools to conduct hearing, vision, spinal, and Acanthosis Nigricans (AN) screenings to help identify potential health concerns early. New legislation now requires parent to opt in for these screenings. Required grades for Vision and Hearing screening are: PK, K, 1, 3, 5, and 7. Required grades for Spinal screenings are: 5th and 7th grade girls and 8th grade boys. In addition to these required grades, all new to district students are required to be screened for vision and hearing regardless of grade. Some students may need to be screened during the year for special programs like special education as well as a concern for vision or hearing in the classroom. We are requesting that all parents complete the consent for screening regardless of grade. Your child will only be screened if they fall in one of the above categories. Parents will be notified of any screenings that are not passed for follow up care referrals.
Please complete the consent for health screenings at the link or scan the QR code to complete.

If you have any questions about screenings, please email anjelica.hall@hayscisd.net
