Welcome Uhland Elementary Families and Staff!

It is truly an honor to join the Uhland Elementary family as your new Assistant Principal for the upcoming school year!

With over twenty-four years of experience as a bilingual educator, primarily in the elementary setting, I have taught both primary and upper grades. In my most recent roles, I provided instructional leadership support for Lake Travis ISD as a Bilingual/ESL Coordinator, Reading Specialist, and Assistant Principal, and most recently served as the Multilingual Coordinator for Eanes ISD.

My educational journey began in Laredo, Texas, where I earned both my bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Spanish from Texas A&M International University, later completing my Educational Leadership program at Lamar University.

Originally from Laredo, I moved to Austin eleven years ago with my two daughters, who are now both in college and with whom I cherish every opportunity to spend time. Now an empty nester, I enjoy traveling, staying active, exploring new foods with my significant other, and spending quality time with my family, especially my daughters whenever we’re together.

Deeply committed to supporting teachers and students, I strive to foster engaging, meaningful instruction that nurtures both academic success and a love for learning. Empowering educators, building capacity, and providing the tools and support needed to create impactful learning experiences remain at the heart of my work.

I look forward to partnering with our families and working alongside our dedicated staff to create a welcoming and supportive environment where every student feels valued, inspired, and able to thrive. Together, we can make a meaningful impact on our students.

I’m excited to begin this journey with all of you, families and staff, as we make this a wonderful year at UES!
