Hi Explorers!

I am thrilled to be your new school counselor at Tobias Elementary for the 2025-2026 school year! I have been in education for 17.5 years, 12 years as a teacher in Hays CISD.  I am very passionate about mental health and teaching kids ways to improve their well-being. I completed my internship under Ms. Herbst last fall, and I was the school counselor at Lake Travis Elementary in Lake Travis ISD this past spring semester.

My goal as a school counselor is to help students achieve success in their social, emotional, and academic development. I value teaching children how to identify their feelings and learn to self-regulate, enabling them to calm themselves down and work through problems. I look forward to getting to know all of the Explorers at Tobias as well as working with our families to help students reach their full potential.

I enjoy spending time with my family, traveling to national parks, the Pacific Northwest, and Walt Disney World and Disneyland, reading, hiking, and swimming. I am married, I have a daughter who will begin her college journey at ACC this fall, and a needy dachshund named Cooper!

It's going to be a great year!
