Lamont Ramage

Lamont Ramage was a longtime justice of the peace, a former school board member and board president, and the former mayor of the City of Hays. He served on the Hays CISD Board of Trustees from 1976 to 1988, including five years as the Board president. He had a deep connection to the district not only serving in his position on the Board, but also as a longtime volunteer. His contributions to the district and the community helped set the area on its current path of growth and success. Additionally, he made a positive impact on the lives of thousands of students through the years.

On October 12, 2023, the Hays CISD Naming Committee voted 12-0 to recommendation naming the district's 17th elementary school in tribute to Lamont Ramage.
