My name is Heather Trupia. I am a wife, mother of three daughters, and grandmother to three precious grandchildren. I have four dogs, one of which is a certified therapy dog, and another who is in training to be a therapy dog. I have been an educator for over twenty years as an elementary school teacher, an SEL (social-emotional learning) teacher, and now I am in my third year as a school counselor. I am excited to begin working with our students and families here at Ramage Elementary.
Ahsoka, my poodle, and I completed Texas State’s Animal Assisted Counseling Academy to become a certified therapy pair. This will be her 4th year as a school therapy dog. I love seeing our students’ excitement when interacting with her. She provides comfort, support, and affection to all!
As a school counselor, I want you to know that I believe that all students should be valued and respected. I will do my best to ensure that our school is welcoming and safe, with all students treated with dignity. Their social-emotional well-being and growth, as well as their academic success, are my priorities on their journey here at Ramage Elementary School and beyond.
