Live Oak Academy offers a unique educational experience for students in grades 10 through 12 who are seeking a more student-driven approach to learning. We hope students take advantage of the opportunity to Educate, Accelerate, and Graduate! We want our students to be prepared for their future!

Unlike traditional, teacher-directed models, instruction at Live Oak Academy centers around independent, computer-based learning using Edgenuity. Our credentialed teachers enhance the academic experience by integrating parts of the program into the class curriculum and providing additional support and instruction where needed This web-based platform allows students to access parts of the coursework from home—not as a replacement for in-person learning, but as an opportunity to stay on track or move ahead.

Our curriculum is rigorous and designed for students who are self-motivated and capable of working independently. While our teachers are always available to guide and support, students at Live Oak Academy take responsibility for their progress and are encouraged to think critically, solve problems creatively, and hold themselves accountable for both successes and failures as they grow into young adults. This independence allows students to work at their own pace—once a course is completed, they immediately move on to the next. Students can even graduate early and may apply for a shortened four-hour daily schedule once they have earned 18 credits.

In addition to helping students meet graduation requirements, Live Oak Academy prepares them for life beyond high school. Our goal is to have our students ready to apply for the college of their choice or register for college courses at Austin Community College (ACC). We strongly encourage dual enrollment at ACC, where students can earn both high school and college credit at no cost. These courses are held on ACC campuses and offer a great head start toward higher education.
