Phoenix Program
The Hays CISD Phoenix Program is a continuing education program developed for students who were unable to complete the requirements to graduate by their Cohort date. The program is designed to assist these students in completing their credits and/or testing to graduate with a high school diploma. The program is not virtual or for students who are still within their cohort.
The Phoenix program is a part of Live Oak Academy and is housed in their building. Students who enroll in the Phoenix program will graduate as Live Oak Academy students with a high school diploma. Requirements for the program are:
Student has passed their Graduation Cohort
Minimum attendance of 4 hours per school day on Live Oak campus working with our Phoenix instructor
Meet the requirements of the Foundations without Endorsements credit plan
Meet all STAAR testing requirements
Once a Phoenix student completes the requirements to graduate, they may walk the stage with Live Oak Academy at the end of the year graduation ceremony.
To enroll in the Phoenix Program, please verify eligibility with the student’s home campus (HHS, LHS, JHS). Their staff will assist in getting the student registered, completing any documentation for registration, and/or special programs testing required to enroll in the program. Transportation is available on Hays CISD High School busing routes. Please call Hays CISD Transportation with any busing questions or concerns for your Phoenix student. After their registration and eligibility is verified with their home campus, a Live Oak Academy staff member will reach out to the student to get them started!
