Graduation Updates
No limit on guests! We love to watch families cheer their students on!
PICTURES: Make sure pictures are taken AFTER the ceremony outside. You may not re-enter the stadium after leaving. There are great places to take pictures outside of the Arena.
MILITARY & SCHOLARSHIPS: Are you receiving a scholarship or have you already enlisted in any US armed services? Bring the letter to Mrs. Crowe in the office immediately!
CORDS/MEDALS: LOA cords and medals were passed out TODAY. We do not have additional cords available; you are responsible for bringing them to Graduation. Questions Gwen.Crowe@HaysCISD.net
OFFICIAL DIPLOMA: Diplomas will be handed out during the ceremony.
***LOST DIPLOMAS ARE NOT REPRINTED***CAP&GOWN: You may NOT decorate caps or add any type of regalia to your graduation gear. Caps that are decorated will be taken up and you will be assigned a temporary cap to wear during the ceremony. Any additional items that are added to the graduation robes or caps will be taken up and may be picked up at Live Oak Academy the next day
Attire
Sunday Best – up-do’s don’t fit under grad caps. Dresses, skirts, collared/dress shirts and pants (shorts are not allowed) etc.
Shoes: No flip flops or bare feet. Dress sandals,
heels, dress shoes, and boots are acceptable. Ladies, make sure you can walk down the stairs in
your shoes!
Cap: No decorations or additions to your cap or
gown. Items will be confiscated up and can be
picked up at LOA the next day.
Prohibited Items
All students will be checked for prohibited items prior to entering the school. Students who are found with prohibited items will not be allowed to participate in Graduation.
No parents or guests are admitted in Staging
Room before or after the Ceremony.
Do not bring any purses/backpacks/make-up
bags etc with you when you come to LOA. Any items brought with you will be left at LOA and can
be picked up the next day from the school.
Cell phones must be put on silent and kept out of
sight if the student would like to keep their phones on them during the ceremony.
Additional Information
This is a formal and respectful ceremony. Please tell friends and family that noise makers, balloons, and other distractions during the ceremony will not be tolerated and items will be confiscated at the door.
