Final Exam and Exemption Information

Students will receive exemption forms in their English class on Dec. 4th/5th.

Eligibility:

  1. No more than 4 absences during the semester (click here for absence cheat sheet).

  2. No ISS/OSS/ for current semester.

  3. No DAEP for any semester (excluding carryover.)

  4. No obligations (no money owed).

  5. On-Level, Pre-AP, AP: Minimum grade of 85 for semester average.

How many exemptions?

  • Freshman: 2

  • Sophomores: 3

  • Juniors: 4

  • Seniors: 5

Exemption Timeline:

Nov. 21st

Cut off for attendance, obligations, discipline, grades.

Dec. 3rd

Teachers receive the spreadsheet with students who meet exemption criteria.

Dec. 4th and Dec. 5th

Exemption forms will be delivered to English Teachers.

Teachers will pass out to students to get signed by their teachers. 

Students begin to turn into counseling center when teachers sign exemption forms. 

Dec. 10th

Deadline for Attendance Appeals. Turn appeals into the Attendance Office. The Academic Dean will review and determine the decision.

Dec. 11th

Final day for students to turn in exemption forms to the counseling center.

Dec. 12th

Teachers will notify Coach Castillo about which student is exempted for FREE Time and Concessions during Exams.

Reminders:

  • Exemption Requests are due to the downstairs Counseling office no later than Thur., December 11th by 4:30 pm. 

  • 1st and 2nd 9 weeks grades are averaged to determine the semester grade for an exempt student

  • Students who are exempt are required to report to their classes on exam days (state law) or they could lose their exemptions!
