Beginning with the 2026 - 2027 school year, Hays CISD implemented a sliding-scale student athletic participation fee, in parity with fine arts participation fees already in existence in the district. The athletics fee program was part of a larger package of necessary, districtwide local budget changes.

• The sliding scale prices provide for a 50% discount for students eligible for reduced lunch prices, and a 90% discount for students who qualify for free lunch.  Visit this page to apply for free or reduced meal status.

• The fees must be paid through Hometown Ticketing. The fee includes a Student-Athletic Pass valid for home contests within the feeder pattern (sent to the student athletes/parents’ email).  To attend a feeder pattern athletic contest the student-athlete must have his or her student-athlete pass and their Hays CISD student ID.

• Payment status will be verified through Rank One at the beginning of the season, after tryouts or pre-season workouts by the head coach, and should be paid before the first contest.

• Payment plans may be approved at the discretion of the sport's head coach or coordinator's discretion, and paid monthly throughout the sport season.

• Special financial circumstances will be reviewed by campus athletic coordinators.

• These fees do not replace any current participation expenses or fundraising obligations associated with a specific sport.  All existing sports-related costs and fundraising activities will remain in place.
