I'm so happy to be able to continue my career in education with my first loves…elementary kiddos.  I have been an elementary counselor and a middle school counselor all here in Hays CISD.  I also taught elementary school in the South Texas area before becoming a school counselor.

I received my Bachelor degree in Elementary Education at Corpus Christi State University and my Master degree in School Counseling at the same place, different name:  Texas A&M-Corpus Christi.  I also have a Doctorate degree in Counseling Studies from Capella University.

I live in Kyle with my husband, David and our fur baby, Jaxon.  My husband and I have five kids between us who have all (minus one) graduated from Lehman High School.  I love to bake, shop, and take road trips with my husband.  We also enjoy spending time with family and friends.

I am excited to be joining the Roadrunners here at Camino Real Elementary!

My name is Heather Trupia. I am a wife, mother of 3 daughters, and grandmother to 3 precious grandchildren. I have 3 dogs, with one of them being a certified therapy dog. I have been in education for over 20 years with 12 of them being here at CRES as a teacher. I am excited to be in my 2nd year as a counselor with the students and families who already hold a special place in my heart. My animal partner, Ahsoka, will join me again this year. Ahsoka, my poodle, and I completed Texas State’s Animal Assisted Counseling Academy to become a certified therapy pair. This will be her 3rd year at CRES. I love seeing our students’ excitement about having her at school. She provides comfort, support, and affection. Students and staff have felt her positive presence across our campus.

As a school counselor, I want you to know that I believe that all students should be valued and respected. I will do my best to ensure that our school is welcoming and safe, with all students being treated with dignity. Their social-emotional well-being and growth, as well as their academic success, are my priorities on their journey here at Camino Real Elementary School and beyond.

I am here to support students and families at CRES. Please don’t hesitate to call or email me if there is anything I can do to help make your child’s school experience more rewarding and successful. I see and get to know all the students as I provide class guidance lessons, lunch groups, small group counseling, individual counseling, and support teachers to ensure students have a positive school experience.

Please visit my website for information on our comprehensive school counseling program and community resources. If you’d like to visit with me, please fill out the Google form below, email me, or call me anytime.
