One of the enduring strengths of Hays CISD has always been a commitment to community, where the word “neighbor” still means something. One of the best ways to be a neighbor is to ensure that each one of our students has every opportunity to succeed, no matter their background or circumstance.
HaysHope2Go is a project to alleviate hunger among our students who are most in need. Food insecurity is a major barrier to having students focus on their work in class on their way to reaching their full academic potential. With our community’s support and generosity, the Hays CISD Clothes Closet, our volunteers, and our amazing community partners are ready to take on poverty and hunger for the benefit of the children in our district.
HaysHope2Go Responds During the COVID-19 Crisis
HaysHope2Go is currently delivering food boxes on a weekly basis to families who have been identified by our school counselors & our Community in Schools partners. As of March 20th, we have served more than 1,000 people in our community. We deliver to families who might not have the means to go to grocery stores or food distribution sites. We are 100% volunteer-based and are fully funded by the generosity of our community through online donations, food drives, and orders of items from our Amazon wishlist.
If you would like to help with our efforts, you are always welcome to contact us to coordinate drop-offs of non-perishable items. Your generosity, kindness, and willingness to serve are appreciated and demonstrate how we are stronger together.
