I am happy to be at Wallace Middle School in Hays Consolidated Independent School District. Our school duty hours are from 7:30 AM until 4:00 PM. I am usually in and out of my office visiting classrooms, learning to be the best principal I can be or leading teacher learning. The best way to reach me is via e-mail at firstname.lastname@example.org, or you can call 512-268-2891 to reach my secretary. I look forward to positive strong year!
Since I was a very young child, I knew I wanted to be a teacher and educator. I found that school was a second home for me and I became involved in a variety of activities. This involvement in extra-curricular and co-curricular activities helped me to feel connected even more to school and taught me many skills that I continue to use today.
I received a Bachelor's Degree from the University of Texas at Austin in Spanish. During my time at UT, I was a member of the Bilingual Education Student Organization, the Mexican American Student Association and played Club Volleyball. After graduating, I began teaching high school Spanish and coaching volleyball and softball at Hays High School. From 2009-2011, I served as an on-site Instructional Coach for secondary core content at Simon Middle School and Lehman High School. In 2010, I received a Master's Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Texas State University at San Marcos. I served as Assistant Principal at Barton Middle School since 2012.
Since 2003 I have been a teacher, coach, instructional specialist or administrator and I feel so honored to get to work with kids. My goal is to challenge and support kids to be the very best they can be and to develop skills that will serve them well throughout life. I believe it is important for students to have fun and get involved at their school and I welcome home and community input to make our campus the school of choice in Hays CISD.
