Message from Principal Crowther

Ahoy Negley Navigators!
I am Mrs. Crowther, the proud Principal and Captain of Negley Elementary! I am honored to be a part of such an awesome community and welcome the opportunity to work together to build upon the strengths of our school.
I am currently entering my 9th year as the Negley Principal and I’ve been in education for 36 years. It seems like yesterday that I began my career as a 1st grade teacher in Hobbs, New Mexico after graduating from Texas Tech University. Throughout my career as a teacher, I’ve taught in 8 different schools, and have taught every grade first through seventh.
As for administration, I graduated from the University of Texas Permian Basin with a degree in Educational Administration. I was the Assistant Principal at Kiker Elementary in Austin ISD for 6 years before taking on the principalship here at Negley. I love my job – there is certainly never a dull moment! My favorite thing as a principal is getting to know your children and watching them grow year after year.
On a personal note, I have been married to my husband, David, for 40 years! I have 2 daughters. My oldest, Aimee, is a real estate agent in Austin where she lives with her husband, Fred. My youngest daughter, Emilee, works as an attorney in Austin. I became a grandparent to Maverick last summer and I am known as Gigi! I also have 4 grand pups: Cedric, Minnie, Tyson, and my mom’s dog, Katie, greets me daily when I get home. I love to read and travel!
