My name is Shea Howard, and I am thrilled to serve as the new principal at Hemphill Elementary! I have worked in education for over 20 years and most recently served as the principal at Fuentes Elementary. I feel very fortunate to have landed here in the Hemphill community. I have extensive experience with both general education and special education as a teacher, curriculum writer, district coordinator, and campus administrator.
I believe that there is no greater gift than that of education. Without an education, we limit our thinking and limit our capacity for greatness as a diverse population. Every child has the capacity for greatness, and it is our responsibility as educators to create partnerships with every child and every family to ensure that children achieve their full potential. Educating children involves more than just teaching core content; it means exposing them to unique experiences that provide them with different perspectives so that they may learn and grow to become happy, successful, contributing members of an ever-evolving society.
