Howdy fellow Owls!
I am Vicki Williams, your new school counselor. I come to Hays with five years of experience in counseling, three years in special education, and four years as a high school English teacher. I am a firm believer that education is the great equalizer. I also believe that finding ways to help students overcome life’s obstacles is the most essential role I can play as a school counselor. I am excited to work with our Owls and support each student in their success. I enjoy learning, water color painting, trying new ideas on my cricut machine, traveling, reading, and watching movies, as well as many other activities. My son is going to college this fall at Texas A&M University to study Agriculture Science and pursue a career in the military. He, and our dog, Duke, are my heart and life. I am a US Air Force veteran, a mom, a dog mom, and I am passionate about counseling! I truly believe the work I do is my life’s calling.
My Master’s degree is in Community Counseling from St. Mary’s University; I earned my graduate certificate in School Counseling from Angelo State University; and my Bachelor’s degree is in Social Psychology from Park University, Parkville, MO. I am also pursuing my licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor-Associate with the State of Texas. I am credentialed with the National Board of Certified Counselors (NBCC) as a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC). I am a member of the American School Counselor Association (ASCA), Texas School Counselor Association (TSCA), and Texas Counselor Association (TCA).
Thanks for taking the time to get to know me a bit! I look forward to meeting each of you and helping you in your journey. Feel free to reach out with any questions you may have or if you need support.
Best always,
Ms. Vicki Williams
