This is my 4th year teaching in Hays CISD, and my 26th year teaching High School English.  I have been lucky enough to teach 9th grade every year, and it is definitely my favorite.  I love working with high school students and care about their success; in addition to teaching, I sponsor the JHS chapter of the National English Honor Society.  I moved to Texas from Virginia in 2020 and am spending time exploring the state; so far, Hill Country is the most beautiful in my opinion.  I grew up a military brat, and have lived all over the U.S., including Hawaii, and even in Denmark.  I went to Northern Arizona University for my undergraduate degree, Old Dominion University (Virginia) for my Master's degree, and Norfolk State University when I took graduate courses to be certified in Algebra 1 (I have not taken the test for math certification here in Texas).  I am thrilled to be a Texan finally.
