Hello to all Johnson Jaguar Parents, Students and Staff!

My name is Elizabeth (Liz) Zabawa and I am an American Sign Language Teacher here at Johnson High School. I currently teach levels I, II, III and IV. I am honored to start my 13th year as a teacher!

My background is deaf blind, as I am a Braille reader with intense Orientation and Mobility training and sign fluently. I have taught students who are blind/visually impaired, deaf blind, and deaf/hard of hearing with students belonging to the Regional Day School Program for the Deaf. I worked as an Inclusion teacher in the areas of Biology and Algebra, as well as a Lecturer/Disability Specialist at Texas State University.

I love all my classes but have a passion for teaching beginners the most! I am enjoying my students so far!!!

I am looking forward to having a wonderful 2023-24 school year!
