Hello Explorers! Nurse office hours on school days are 7am to 3:30 pm.  

For those who are new here, I have over 13 years of experience as a pediatric nurse and am working through my 7th year as a Hays school nurse. I'm living as a San Martian Mermaid with 4 rescue fur babies (2 dogs & 2 cats) and a varying number of backyard toads, all of which I name Timothy. I enjoy gardening, listening to podcasts, and painting in my free time.

Girl Talk/Boy Talk will be held May 3rd, 5-7 pm, HHS Library Red and Blue rooms - More info to come!  

Immunizations - PreK, Kinder and 7th grade are the years that big immunizations are due. If you are unsure about your student's shot records, please contact us and/or their doctor.

Please do not send medications in student's pockets or belongings for them to take later. Any medications at school needed longer than 10 days needs parent and physician authorization, must be unexpired, and must come with their original prescription label. Short term medication, for less than 10 days, we do still need parent authorization and we must follow labeled instructions.

NEW STUDENTS, parents may fill out my questionnaires to the right when you enroll your child. Medication forms can be found on the district's main Student Health Page, or feel free to email me and I will get them to you. 

Health screenings (state/law required) Each year we have school wide vision and hearing screens for PreK, Kinder, 1st, 3rd, 5th, and for students in sped or receiving other kinds of services (ex Speech). We also screen for Acanthosis Nigricans in 1st, 3rd, and 5th grade. On November 17 we will screen for Scoliosis in 5th grade girls. Please email me if you have questions or your child loses/breaks their glasses and you need help getting a new exam/pair.

Affordable health care - if your child doesn't have medical insurance or is about to lose it I do have resources to help get them care when they need it.
