Ashley Zottarelli, RN

  • Hello Explorers! I have over 13 years of experience as a pediatric nurse. Six of them I spent as a school nurse, right here in Hays CISD. This nursing journey began in San Antonio on night shift at Methodist Children’s Hospital. I'm living as a San Martian Mermaid with 4 rescue animals (2 dogs & 2 cats) and a varying amount of backyard toads. I enjoy gardening, listening to podcasts, and painting in my free time.

News from the Nurse

  • Please do not send medications in students pockets or belongings for them to take later. We must have a note from the parent and medication in its original container in the nurse office. Anything to be given longer than 10 days or for a reason that doesn't align with the medication use/district policy does require physician orders.

The END of THE YEAR is quickly approaching. I am able to send inhalers home in student's backpacks if parents wish this, but Epipens and any other medications must be picked up by a parent. Please be on the lookout for a note regarding dates that meds can be picked up and for Medication sheets for the new school year 2022-2023.

Over the summer - NEW STUDENTS, parents you may fill out my questionnaires to the right when you enroll your child. Medication forms can be found on the main Student Health Page.

Immunizations - PreK, Kinder and 7th grade are the years that big immunizations are due. If you are unsure about your students shot records, please contact their doctor to see if they need any. We need immunization records by August 1, 2022 to ensure your child is placed in a class for Meet the Teacher night.
