Welcome to the CHES G/T page! For recent updates and photos of the amazing things happening in our classrooms check out the CHES Fall G/T Newsletter!
Our hope is that this will be a place you can come to for resources and information. If you have any questions about services at CHES please contact our campus G/T Liaison, Christina Harlan, at christina.harlan@hayscisd.net
The CHES Gifted and Talented Program provides engaging and cooperative learning opportunities, in each grade level. During class time, students are provided differentiated assignments that engage their academic knowledge and peak their interest and creativity.
Students participate in WIN (What I Need) Time to further enhance their creativity and thinking. During WIN time, students are given enriched and accelerated projects.
CHES uses Depth and Complexity questioning to deepen comprehension and our understanding, while applying our knowledge, in all academic subjects.
“The Depth and Complexity Icons are visual prompts designed to help students go beyond surface level understanding of a concept and enhance their ability to think critically. These critical thinking tools help students dig deeper into a concept (depth) and understand that concept with greater complexity.” Source: envisiongifted.com
