Congratulations to Ms. Baca for receiving the G/T Spotlight Award!

Ms. Baca has been so great for our 5th grade GT students. The students have had lots of anxiety over the weather events this year in our area and Ms. Baca gave them the opportunity to research "Emergency Preparedness" and create a product to show students, teachers, and families in our area and community. She involved the librarian in the project to help make their research as accurate and thorough as possible. The students have flourished in this project and even had a chance to use their new knowledge to help in a fire drill on our campus. Ms. Baca is taking their enthusiasm and running with it: she's working to involve community members in their project and lining up professionals in the field for them to interview over Zoom. Ms. Baca is awesome and I can't wait to see the end results of how this project positively impacts our GT students and our community in a special and meaningful way.

Ms. Baca is always providing challenging and differentiated strategies to the 5th graders. She is passionate about G/T and is always willing to try new things with the students. She manages to teach not only her kids but all the G/T students in 5th grade. She encourages students to do their best and to reach their potential. She is always willing to help and provide her ideas to the G/T selection committee. We are lucky to have her at Blanco Vista ES!
