HAYS CISD Talk Series - An expansion of Girl Talk Boy Talk
This fall we hosted a “Talk” Series, an expansion of our Girl Talk Boy Talk (GTBT) Program. Based on feedback from our GTBT events over the last six years, we expanded our parent wrskshops to include a series of nights aimed at different conversation starters for parents. We hosted a night just for Puberty/Changing bodies, one for the traditional GTBT, a Spanish Monolingual GTBT, and one for Internet and device safety.
Our goal is to help get the conversation started with accurate, age appropriate information, provided by our panel or speakers. So that's what we do! Parents and teens ask questions anonymously via text message, and our panel or panelist provide age appropriate accurate information. That's it, there is no other agenda.
Your job? Show up with your child and be prepared to anonymously text in questions on the night of the event. Our panel of experts will answer the questions asked with accurate, age appropriate information. You can be the first person to tell your teen what they need to know about sexual health, sexual responsibility and decision making. Just as important, you can do so in the context of your own family values.
