Uhland Elementary School

Dear Roo Nation Parents, 

We are very pleased to welcome you and your child to Uhland Elementary School. We are so excited to meet those that are new to Uhland (Roo Nation) and to see our returning Roos and their families again.  I hope you had the opportunity to rest and enjoy the summer break with your children.  We look forward to the amazing and wonderful school year ahead. 

At Uhland, we want to maintain strong connections with parents. These connections are very beneficial to our sense of community and enable us to work together to achieve the best possible outcomes for your children and our students. Teachers are required to use Class Dojo to communicate with all parents. Please reach out your child’s teacher to get connected.  I use Remind texts in order to communicate with parents on school-wide events.  I will be using paper notifications or flyers during the school year for family events.  Last year I didn’t because we were short on paper and I wanted to save paper for teachers and students to use in the classroom.  Please let the front office know if you need help signing up for Remind. The following Parent Information Booklet is a very useful resource used for us to communicate and clarify any questions you may have about our school rules and expectations, including the dress code. Remember families voted last year and Uhland will no longer require uniforms.  Those that are in favor of uniforms, can continue sending their students in uniform.  Thank you for all of your feedback. 

Our theme for this year is “Growing Leaders Everyday”.   Our staff is going to begin training in the Social Emotional Curriculum called “Leader in Me” this 23-24 school year.  Our plan is to boost student achievement and positive student friendships by teaching students the following ideas using the “Leader in Me” curriculum.

* Everyone can be a leader!

* Everyone has genius!

* Change starts with me!

* Students can lead their own learning!.

Estimados padres de Roo Nation, 

Estamos muy contentos de darle la bienvenida a usted ya su hijo a la Escuela Primaria Uhland. Estamos muy emocionados de conocer a aquellos que son nuevos en Uhland (Roo Nation) y de ver nuevamente a nuestros Roos y sus familias que regresan. Espero que hayan tenido la oportunidad de descansar y disfrutar de las vacaciones de verano con sus hijos. Esperamos con ansias el increíble y maravilloso año escolar que se avecina.

En Uhland, queremos mantener fuertes conexiones con los padres. Estas conexiones son muy beneficiosas para nuestro sentido de comunidad y nos permiten trabajar juntos para lograr los mejores resultados posibles para sus hijos y nuestros estudiantes. Se requiere que los maestros usen Class Dojo para comunicarse con todos los padres. Comuníquese con el maestro de su hijo para conectarse. Utilizo textos Remind para comunicarme con los padres sobre eventos escolares. Usaré notificaciones en papel durante el año escolar para eventos familiares. El año pasado no lo hice porque nos faltaba papel y quería ahorrar papel para que los maestros y estudiantes lo usaran en el salón de clases. Informe a la oficina principal si necesita ayuda para inscribirse en Remind. El siguiente folleto de información para padres es un recurso muy útil que utilizamos para comunicarnos y aclarar cualquier pregunta que pueda tener sobre las reglas y expectativas de nuestra escuela, incluido el código de vestimenta. Recuerde que las familias votaron el año pasado y Uhland ya no requerirá uniforme. Los que estén a favor de usar uniforme, pueden continuar a mandar a sus hijos en unforme.. Nuestro tema para este año es "Líderes en crecimiento todos los días". Nuestro personal comenzará a capacitarse en el plan de estudios socioemocional llamado "Líder en mí" este año escolar 23-24. Nuestro plan es impulsar los logros de los estudiantes y las amistades positivas de los estudiantes enseñándoles las siguientes ideas utilizando el plan de estudios "Líder en mí".

* ¡El cambio comienza conmigo!

* ¡Los estudiantes pueden liderar su propio aprendizaje!

Sigo asombrado por el aprecio y el apoyo que recibimos de nuestras familias de Uhland y espero trabajar juntos este año escolar.  Como siempre, tenemos altas expectativas para nuestro personal y estudiantes y sabemos que tendremos un año escolar exitoso. Continúe colaborando con nosotros mientras nos esforzamos por garantizar que su hijo tenga la mejor experiencia educativa posible.
