Add Money to Student Meal Account
Pay Online or On the Phone App
The most convenient way to pay for meals is using the online system below or downloading the app to your phone. SchoolCafe allows you to check your students' account balance, monitor what they are purchasing, make payments using a credit/debit card, and apply for free and reduced-price meal benefits.

Cash or Check Payments
Pre-payments will be accepted during school hours. Students or parents may deposit money into their students' account during breakfast and lunch in the cafeteria. We do not accept credit/debit card payments in the cafeteria.
Using a Check: Please provide the student's full name and ID number on the bottom of the check and make it out to Hays Child Nutrition.
Using Cash: Pre-payment envelopes are available if parents prefer to send cash. Please fill out the students first name, last name, and student ID number on the outside of the envelope.
Account Balance Reminders
Weekly low and negative balance slips are sent home with the child. This notification will indicate either the low balance or the amount owed. Any money received will be applied to outstanding balances first.
A La Carte or Extra Items
If a student has money on their meal account or if they bring money, students are allowed to purchase extra items such as an additional entrée or an a la carte item. Prices for a la cart items range from $0.50-$2.50 per item. Our point of sale system allows us to apply restrictions to a student's account upon request. If you would like to limit or modify the number of a la cart items your student can purchase, please contact the Child Nutrition Office at (512)268-1336 and we will put a restriction on your student's account.
