Mrs. Katie McClendon
Being a teacher has been my dream ever since I was a little girl. As a child I LOVED school and was EXCITED every time we learned something new. My favorite part of being a teacher is getting to show my students new concepts and ideas in our world and watching their knowledge expand throughout the year. My goal is to make sure this year is fun and exciting for your child so that they will have the same joy for learning that I had as a child. Besides being a teacher, I thought you might want to know a little more about me.
I am married to my best friend Mark. He is a firefighter in Kyle and is currently going to Texas State University. We have a daughter, Kimber, who is five and is our family's dose of sparkle and shine. We also have a son, Ryan, who is two and is a future athlete in the making. They take up most of my free time, but I also have a passion for reading, brainstorming future home improvement projects, and attending as many Texas State athletic events as possible each year.
I have lived in or around Austin for most of my life. I attended Crockett High School and graduated from Texas State University in 2010. I began my teaching career in Victoria, TX, but came back to Hays County as quickly as I could. Most of our family is around this area, so coming back to Buda felt like coming back home.
This will be my fifth year teaching Third Grade at Buda Elementary. Before that, I taught Second grade for three years at a school in Victoria. I absolutely love teaching third grade! As I said before, it is my mission to make sure that your student loves coming to school each day and learns more than they ever thought possible once they are here. Please let me know if you ever have any questions or concerns. It is so important to me that we work together to make sure that your child is getting the best education possible.
