Assistant Principal Lape's Message
Hello families!
My name is Dominic Lape, and I am the Assistant Principal at Negley Elementary. This will be my fourth year in this position, and I’m eager to support staff, students, and families as we all work together to help our children become the best version of themselves.
This year marks the beginning of my fiftheenth year in education. I began teaching in 2010, immediately after graduating from The Ohio State University. There, I mastered in Special Education with a focus on mild to moderate disabilities. I taught for three years in Ohio before making the exciting decision to move to Texas in 2013. I taught as a special educator in San Marcos CISD for eight years, developing my craft and also earning a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Texas State University along the way. After earning my administrative certifications, I was so excited to be offered the opportunity to join the Negley family!
I was born and raised in Cincinnati, Ohio. All my family is still there, so I often enjoy the opportunity to go visit them during longer school breaks. Some of my favorite things include learning to cook new foods with friends and superheroes. My favorite hero is Spiderman, and I’ve adopted a Spiderman theme in my office. I welcome you to come by and see it sometime. Some of the students have even learned to call me Mr. Spiderman, so if you hear that name, I’m the one they are referring to.
As an Assistant Principal, my goal is to work collaboratively with teachers and families to create the best possible outcomes for our students. I try to look at problems as opportunities for growth, and I aim to remain solution-oriented. I work to improve the quality of our programs at Negley in order to maximize educational opportunities for our students.
It’s going to be another super year for us at Negley! I can’t wait to see what we’re all able to accomplish together! Have a great day!
Dominic Lape
