My name is Heather Trupia. I am a wife, mother of 3 daughters, and grandmother to 3 precious grandchildren. I have 3 dogs, with one of them being a certified therapy dog. I have been in education for over 20 years with 11 of them being here at CRES as a teacher. I am excited to be in my first year as a counselor with the students and families who already hold a special place in my heart. My animal partner, Ahsoka, will join me again this year. Ahsoka, my poodle, and I completed Texas State’s Animal Assisted Counseling Academy to become a certified therapy pair. This will be her 2nd year at CRES, and I love seeing our students’ excitement in having her at school. She provides comfort, support, and affection. Students and staff have felt her positive presence across our campus.
As a school counselor, I want you to know that I believe that all students should be valued and respected. I will do my best to ensure that our school is welcoming and safe, with all students being treated with dignity. Their social-emotional well-being and growth, as well as their academic success, are my priorities on their journey here at Camino Real Elementary School and beyond.
I am here to support students and families at CRES. Please don’t hesitate to call or email me if there is anything I can do to help make your child’s school experience more rewarding and successful. I see and get to know all the students as I provide class guidance lessons, lunch groups, small group counseling, individual counseling, and support teachers to ensure students have a positive school experience.
