Profile of the Hays CISD Educator

  • In Hays CISD, all students will graduate with the knowledge and skills necessary to become extraordinary citizens.  To create learning opportunities and learning environments through which all students can develop the knowledge, skills, and habits outlined in the Hays CISD Learner Profile, Hays CISD educators inspire each learner to develop the knowledge, skills, attributes, and dispositions to be an accomplished person prepared for life and citizenship.

    • Creates a risk-free, supportive learning environment for all students
    • Designs engaging, authentic, challenging learning experiences for all students
    • Incorporates a variety of effective, student-responsive instructional strategies and adjusts instruction based on student need
    • Promotes relevant learning experiences that reflect students’ interests and cultural identities
    • Incorporates student choice and voice in learning and demonstration of mastery
    • Provides specific, timely feedback to students for self-reflection, goal-setting, and monitoring progress
    • Employs a variety of assessment methods to collect and use learning information and data
    • Focuses on continuous improvement/progress
