I was born and raised as the child of an educator in the DFW area and graduated from Grapevine High School in 2000.  I attended Texas State University where I enjoyed playing rugby and graduated with a degree in Criminal Justice.  I then attended the Victoria College Police Academy and upon graduation,  served as a Juvenile Probation Officer in Victoria Texas which is where I found my passion for working with young people.  With of hopes of transitioning to the education field, I returned to Texas State to pursue a Master’s Degree in Education.  Following graduation in 2009, I began teaching at Simon Middle School in Hays CISD and served in several different campus roles including Instructional Coach and Assistant Principal.  In the fall of 2018 I was given the opportunity to join the Lehman faculty as an Assistant Principal where I am fortunate to work with an amazing faculty and engaging students.

While not at work I enjoy anything involving the outdoors, attending live music events and spending time with my wife and our dog.

I was raised in Houston, TX by my mom, along with my older and younger brother. It is here where I attended school in a large urban school district, Cypress-Fairbanks ISD, until I graduated from high school. While in high school, I participated in athletics and FFA.

I attended Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, TX where I received a degree a Bachelors of Science in Agricultural with a minor in secondary education. It was soon after I began teaching in Austin ISD where I pursued a master’s degree at Texas State University in Education Leadership. My main emphasis was on the factors that have the greatest impact on Hispanic students in education.

I am currently in my fourteenth year of education. I started my teaching career in a small rural 1A town, Louise, Texas. While working at Louise ISD, I taught Agriculture (2004-2006). It wasn’t long after I knew I wanted to teach in a district and setting closer to my own upbringing. Two years later, I began teaching in Austin ISD, a large urban district. I taught Agriculture at Lanier High School from 2006-2010.

Throughout my teaching, I knew I wanted to become an administrator and one day have my own school. I was able to make the transition from teacher to administrator in 2010. Since then I have now served as an administrator at the MS level and HS level.

Currently, I am the Academic Dean of Lehman HS. My responsibilities include: scope and sequence of academics, advanced academics, GT, campus professional development, campus instructional coaches, counseling office and master scheduling.

It is my believe that if we set high expectations and provide the support needed to meet the expectations, Lehman will be successful. Lehman is successful by the student’s success and the teachers who support them in every way possible.
