The original Elm Grove School was established in 1876 as the first state-supported public school in the area.  it was the largest school in the county at the time with 63 pupils.

The current Elm Grove Elementary School campus opened in 2000 as one of three “sister schools” (Elm Grove ES, Hemphill ES, and Fuentes ES ).
